This Friday, Telefónica was awarded the exclusive broadcasting rights for a total of five LaLiga first division matches for each matchday, for pay television in Spain.
The company’s note also details that Movistar will be able to “select in the first choice in 18 days and in the second choice in 17 days of each season”, which also includes the classic Barcelona-Real Madrid of the second round, which corresponds to the first lot of the contract tendered by LaLiga.
And it adds that it has also been awarded the exclusive broadcasting rights for one day in the 2024-2025 season and three days in the remaining seasons, which contain ten matches each and will include matches
relevant matches of the three main clubs in the First Division, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid, in which they face the best classified teams from the previous season.
The award covers the 2024-2025 season, starting January 20, 2025, as well as the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 seasons.
The price of the award was 250 million euros for the 2024-2025 season and 520 million euros for each of the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 seasons. In this way, for the entire cycle until 2027 the same cost per season is maintained as in the previous award to Telefónica.
