Joaquín Torres is one of the great protagonists of the current social chronicle of our country. The architect is not going through the best of times after the loss of his mother, Joaquina Verez Vivanco, on March 2 after fighting a long illness.

The death of the mother has been a hard blow for the entire family, which in less than a month has had to face the loss of Joaquina and the family war that they have open with the eldest of the brothers, Julio. And both the architect and the rest of his brothers accuse Julio of having ruined his parents, to the point of having to depend financially on the rest of his children.

A tough confrontation that has led Joaquín Torres and the rest of the family to break ties with his older brother. For this reason, none of the family members expected Julio’s presence at Joaquina Verez Vivanco’s funeral mass, held this Monday in Madrid. Something that the former Espejo Público collaborator wanted to talk about when he arrived at the church.

”For me Julio is dead, he is not my brother, he does not exist and I hope he does not come, because that would mean that my father would leave (…) My father has asked him not to come, but I don’t know what he will do ( …) For me, no one is missing, only my mother,” the architect asserted before the microphones of And now Sonsoles.

”I don’t care what I do because I am willing not to feel hatred, I want to achieve indifference and for me now it is easier because my mother is not there, everything is in the hands of lawyers and I can distance myself, but I don’t I want to live with hate,” he said.

Regarding the funeral mass that he had prepared to say goodbye to his mother, the architect said that they were going to have Marta Sánchez present to sing live. She’s going to sing a song she wrote for her sister (Deep Courage). I have tried to do what my father likes most, although my mother’s wish was to make it more intimate. For the second time in her life she is going to be the main protagonist, because she has always been in the background behind my father,’ he said.

Moments later, collaborator Isabel Rodríguez revealed that the death of mother Joaquín Torres had managed to unite all the brothers, except Julio. ”He has ensured that they are all united,” declared the journalist. Furthermore, minutes later, Marta Sánchez made an appearance at the church. ”I wanted to give him the gift of coming to sing a song that he really likes and his mother also liked. It’s a song that I can’t sing because it costs me a lot (…) I haven’t been able to sing this song for 30 years,” the artist confessed.
