Mediaset continues to embrace a new stage after the cancellation of Sálvame, and confirms it with the dismissal of María Patiño from the program she presented until now, Socialité, the pink chronicle program on weekends and holidays before the news.
After the farewell of another of the icons of its main network, Telecinco, Pedro Piqueras, retiring after 50 years of profession and prestige, on this Christmas Day it was the turn of the popular journalist.
María Patiño and Nuria Marín, the presenters of Socialité until now, have been fired by Mediaset after the break with the production company La Fábrica de la Tele, since from next January 6 Fénix Media Audiovisual, Christian Gálvez’s production company, will be in charge.
“It was worth it,” María Patiño began her farewell speech with a broken and visibly emotional voice, to continue remembering all her colleagues and “thank you for having been here these six years.”
“I’m going to keep walking, keep walking, so wait for me… there’s still a lot of war left to fight,” he announces, adding, “it was the right decision. “Everyone knows that this program is no longer presented by Nuria Marín, a wonderful colleague who has added to this program and a servant,” added the popular former collaborator of Sálvame.
Patiño concluded his emotional goodbye with: “I also needed to walk, I needed to fly. I need to go back, probably, to create another baby so that, when it is older and an adult like ‘Socialité’, it flies alone. Now I’m leaving, but I’ll be back”, were his beautiful words, which drew applause from his writing colleagues.
The until now co-host of ‘Fiesta’, María Verdoy, will be the one to take over from Patiño and Marín as host of ‘Socialité’ under the new production company from January 6, and whom the veteran journalist has characterized as “a professional exceptional” and wished him the best of luck.
