Lucía Rivera recounts the ins and outs of her life in a new book that goes on sale this Wednesday, Nothing is what it seems. The model tells her childhood in the first person, the mistreatment of two ex-boyfriends, the bullying she suffered in some schools, the dramas of the beginnings of her career as a model, her problems with being extremely thin due to thyroid, her love relationship- hatred with the press, some love wars with pseudonymous celebrities, and, for the first time, she speaks publicly about her biological father, something that she herself assumes usually causes a lot of interest.

One of the first chapters is dedicated to his biological father, and in it he reveals that he is an international top model, whom he cites as “W.” in the book. In this first part in which she addresses her relationship with him, she Lucía recounts the day she met him and how her high expectations were quickly destroyed. Communication was not easy because he did not speak Spanish and, at that time, she, Lucía, did not speak English. But what should have been some idyllic days of reunion between father and daughter, ended up being a disappointment for Lucía, because she realized that he was an alcoholic and that her behavior left much to be desired.

In that same chapter, the author ends up thanking her mother, the actress Blanca Romero, for keeping her away from her biological father for a while. Lucía, who acknowledges that in this book she has emptied “a backpack that weighed tons”, also recounts that, years later, her father reappeared in her life and that she managed to forgive him. “There are people who appear just to teach you to forgive,” Rivera assures in this sense in the pages of Nothing is what it seems.

However, not everything has been easy in his life, and that is what counts in this new book. Famous from the cradle for being the daughter of Blanca Romero, and adoptive daughter of Cayetano Rivera after the marriage of the actress and the bullfighter, Lucía took her first steps in the world of modeling at an early age. In the book she also tells that she believed that the bullfighter was her father until she was 9 years old and that he became her paternal reference for many years.

“Dear reader, when you finish this book, you may hate me or want to hug me tight,” the model also admits, who strips completely naked in the book and tells hilarious unpublished anecdotes from her life. She also reveals that at her birth she was about to die, she describes a very complicated school stage in multiple schools, she recounts her difficult beginnings in the world of fashion and her humble move to Madrid to become a model. . She also addresses the relationships she had with toxic people, she acknowledges that she has been mistreated by two ex-boyfriends and reaffirms her commitment to feminism, as she showed in one of her collaborations with this medium.
