Letizia applauds the Blaugrana victory in the Queen's Cup

Letizia applauded FC Barcelona’s victory by eight goals in the Copa de la Reina and was in charge of handing the trophy to Alexia Putellas, captain of the Blaugrana team. La Reina has once again firmly demonstrated its commitment to sport and, in particular, women’s Spanish football with its presence in the Copa de la Reina final played in Zaragoza.

Doña Letizia occupied a distinguished place in the box and, although restrained to show her impartiality, she enjoyed the match between the Blaugrana team and Real Sociedad in a La Romareda stadium packed with 25,600 spectators.

The Queen, after her injury to her right foot, has once again resorted to comfortable footwear. On this occasion she has worn white sneakers, a model very similar to that of Minister Pilar Alegría, who has opted for the iconic Adidas Samba, the sports brand’s best sellers. Letizia has completed her outfit with a multi-colored checkered buttoned jacket made of tweed from the Spanish fashion brand Mirto, and simple white pleated pants.

This is her return to the important annual event for women’s sports after an absence of five years. The last time she appeared was in May 2019, in a match between Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad. On that occasion the match ended with victory for the Donostiarras.

With this, FC Barcelona adds a total of ten Queen’s Cups and corroborates the magnificent sporting moment of the Blaugrana team. This season they have won a total of three of four titles – the League, the Queen’s Cup and the Spanish Super Cup -, waiting for the Champions League final match that they will play next week in Bilbao.
