Henry Méndez for his concert during the San Isidro festivities to defend an attacked woman

The famous artist Henry Méndez has made headlines after an incident that occurred last night at the Cártama Station, during the festivities in honor of San Isidro Labrador.

While offering his show, Méndez witnessed an attack by a man towards a woman who was in the audience. The singer, known for his charisma and energy on stage, immediately stopped his performance to confront the aggressor.

“Listen to me, hey, listen to me hanging, how can you think of hitting a woman, you’re a scoundrel,” Méndez exclaimed from the stage, addressing the man.

The tension increased when Méndez decided to leave the stage to defend the victim. The situation escalated quickly, and the artist ended up getting into a fight with the aggressor.

This incident is not isolated. In recent weeks, there have been similar situations of public figures intervening in acts of violence. On May 6, Antonio Barrul, one of the most successful boxers in the country, was in a movie theater when he witnessed a man attacking a woman.

The tension escalated and Barrul confronted the aggressor, resulting in a fight where the athlete beat the man, leaving him on the ground before the stunned gaze of the spectators.

Meanwhile, local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the incident at Cártama Station. It is hoped that both cases, both that of Henry Méndez and that of Antonio Barrul, will contribute to a greater focus on the prevention and response to gender violence, as well as the role that everyone can play in advocating for victims.
