Despite being best known for his humorous roles such as Emilio Delgado (No one here lives) and Fermín Trujillo (La que se cerca), Fernando Tejero is one of the most versatile and emotional actors in the audiovisual industry. Through the contrast between different characters with which he acts, the man from Córdoba manages to stand out and raise both the spirit and interest of the audience, keeping him glued to the screen no matter what size it is.
His latest project is Historias, a film with different separate plots that come together in the footage, which he has presented in El Hormiguero with Pablo Motos. Although the work directed by Paco Sepúlveda premieres on May 24, the interpreter was already involved in a new project that has left the crown of his head bare. He himself admitted feeling surprised and grateful to work with Alejandro Amenábar, director of this new project.
However, the interview led to other directions, in particular the anecdotes that the Andalusian experienced in his daily life as an actor in Madrid. The situations in taxis, coinciding with his role as driver in stories, stood out during the night: vomiting in one with Lola Dueñas or hiding flatulence by passing it off as if it were her dog’s. Even so, it was a romantic encounter that raised the most laughter among the audience.
Tejero explained what happened to him during a date, acknowledging that on that occasion he used Tinder to meet someone. In his words, he currently no longer needed it because “people are already approaching me” without needing the application. The dinner didn’t end up coming to fruition, and his partner stayed looking at him in disbelief all night. When going to the bathroom, he discovered that he spent the entire time with a bream scrape in his beard.
The actor also had time to share his biggest fear: “I get a letter from the Treasury at home and my legs shake until I go to pick it up at the Post Office. I shit on all the Finance Ministers there have been, in all the branches. What we have been through is one of these episodes. I promise you that it is literal: I receive a notification from the Treasury and until I see what it is my legs shake. The fear I have the most is the Treasury.”
In addition, he was full of praise for Historias and its director, for whom he worked without pay. “We never talked about money, it was a small film and on the contrary I went to the shoot with my car, that is, the film cost me money. But I would do it again, because Paco is a guy with brutal talent, he tells stories from the heart, from that nudity and I would work with Paco again without getting paid,” the actor confessed to Motos.
