When ABC’s “Designated Survivor” returns on March 8, things are going to get a lot worse for FBI Agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) and President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland). While the former is accused of firing her weapon during the Vice President’s inauguration ceremony, the latter will see someone close to him getting wheeled in to an operation room where doctors will conduct surgery.
ABC released the official synopsis of the upcoming episode of the drama series. It states that the nation is reeling from the aftermath of the shooting that took place on the steps of the Capitol. The President’s Special Advisor, Emily Rhodes (Italia Ricci), will struggle with the knowledge that there may be a traitor in the White House in Season 1, episode 11.
In the Season 1 mid-season finale, Emily discovered that Kirkman’s Chief of Staff and her love interest, Aaron Shore (Adan Canto), might have played a role in handing out the blueprints of the Capitol bombing to terrorist group Al-Sakar.
Meanwhile, Hannah will have to decide whether she should reveal the truth about a conspiracy brewing inside the White House. The people involved in this conspiracy were not only responsible for bombing the Capitol during the State of Union address, but they also implemented a plan to assassinate the President during the Vice President’s inauguration ceremony.
Hannah will be interrogated by Mike Ritter (LaMonica Garrett), a Secret Service Agent assigned to protect Tom Kirkman. Will she tell him the truth? He knows that the blueprints of the Capitol bombing were given to Al-Sakar by a traitor in the White House.
“Designated Survivor” revealed in the first half of Season 1 that Congressman turned Vice President Peter MacLeish (Ashley Zukerman) worked alongside Catalan (George Tchortov) in the army. Catalan, MacLeish and his wife are a part of the conspiracy.
