Three weeks have passed since it came to light that Daniel Sancho, the son of actor Rodolfo Sancho, went to a police station in Thailand and, after denying it several times, confessed to the murder and dismemberment of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta. Little by little, more details about the relationship they both had are becoming known and some details about the case are being clarified. In the last few hours, it has been known that Daniel made some clothing changes that are suspicious for investigators and that could be key to the case.

This information comes to light just days after Edwin’s cause of death was confirmed. “We already have the definitive results of the autopsy. First, according to the evidence, they fought at the scene [of the crime]. Daniel punched him, then the doctor fell and hit his head on the sink, but he did not die in that moment, but when Daniel Sancho began to cut his throat, according to forensics,” the Thai police said last week, after carrying out an autopsy on the remains of the Colombian’s body.

The Colombian police request the death penalty for Sancho, so the investigation is key so that, when the trial is held, the judges can pass sentence. Now new details have come to light about the day the crime was committed, details that could be significant and that would have to do with the previous and subsequent movements of the alleged murderer, chef Daniel Sancho.

As reported by the reporter Juanjo Martínez, special envoy to Thailand for the Antena 3 program Y ahora, Sonsoles. Summer, and according to the images that the police of that country have provided to the media, Daniel Sancho would have changed his clothes in a matter of 20 minutes. Apparently, the shirt with which he went to look for Edwin at the port and the one he wore in a cafeteria where they went to have a drink before going to the villa where Edwin lost his life are not the same.

Martínez explained live that in the image in which Sancho appears on the motorcycle with Edwin after picking him up at the port, he was wearing a white T-shirt. “But a new scene has appeared, the cafeteria where they stopped before going home, where we have been able to see Edwin’s white flip flops. In Thailand it is typical that before entering a cafeteria to have a coffee, a toast , whatever, you have to leave your shoes outside,” explains the reporter. In that cafeteria, the chef was wearing a black tank top. Edwin does not appear in that image, although his white flip-flops do.

According to the investigation, after spending some time together in the cafeteria, the two went to the villa that Sancho had rented and where the crime was allegedly committed. According to Thai police, upon arriving at the villa, Daniel was again wearing a white T-shirt. That is why there are many questions that arise now, such as if Daniel changed his clothes twice or if the man in the cafeteria was really him. “We don’t know if it was Daniel because the image that the police give us doesn’t show his face, but we do recognize Edwin’s flip-flops,” the reporter said.

Be that as it may, and although the police ventured that they had already closed the case, the truth is that the judge in charge of the case needs more evidence before taking it to trial. The investigation continues, so we will have to wait for more details. Some details that, with each passing day, are coming to light.
