Dani Mateo, well-known host of ‘Zapeando’ and collaborator of ‘El Intermedio’, has been absent from television sets for more than two weeks. His unexpected absence, which was initially expected to be brief, has aroused the curiosity and concern of his followers. Finally, Mateo has explained the reasons behind his prolonged medical leave.
In a live intervention from ‘Zapeando’, Dani Mateo revealed that his absence is due to a traffic accident in which he was involved. “I’m ‘annoyed’ because I had a small accident with the car. My airbag went off and I got a small crack in my sternum, which doesn’t allow me to move,” Mateo explained to his teammate Miki Nadal, who has been covering his position.
Mateo, known for his sense of humor, did not miss the opportunity to joke about the incident, although he admitted the seriousness of his injuries. “It doesn’t allow me to move, which is something I don’t usually do anymore… what you see is all I can move,” he commented to the camera, making small gestures to illustrate his limited mobility.
The presenter also wanted to clarify the circumstances of the accident, exonerating the other driver and claiming fault. “It was more my fault than his, it wasn’t the roundabout’s fault. “I’m not good at driving either,” Mateo confessed, before making his colleagues laugh by saying that the accident occurred because he “was in a hurry to see if he could get to an orgy in Villarrobledo.”
Despite the jokes, Mateo made it clear that his recovery is essential and that his return will depend on how his state of health evolves. “I must rest, I must recover. Not only about this accident, but about these 18 years of ‘El Intermedio’, which have almost hurt me more,” he said in a joking tone during a previous video call on the laSexta program.
During his absence, Miki Nadal has taken the reins of ‘Zapeando’, demonstrating his versatility and ability to keep the program going.
