Despite having a consolidated career of more than two decades in the world of acting, Clara Lago, at 33, continues to diversify into various businesses and charitable causes. The actress works for the defense of animals and the environment with the Ochotumbao Foundation, she is also in charge of giving voice to audiobooks and, now, as she has revealed to ¡Hola! magazine, she has a new project with her partner, Jose Lucena.

Lago is planning to open a restaurant with a cocktail bar together with Lucena and another partner, chef Víctor Pinacho. The latter already have a restaurant, La Tuerta Funky Castizo, in the center of Madrid, and they are going to open another, La Huerta Funky Castizo, which will replicate the first but with a 100% vegetable menu.

As Lago explains, her boy is in charge of the business part and the other partner is in charge of the creative part, so she, jokingly, defines her role in the business as that of a sociocultural cheerleader. The business idea came naturally, because when Clara, who is vegan, visited her partner’s restaurant, her partner would surprise her with new dishes and she was amazed.

The actress has been a vegan for more than six years, a personal decision she made while watching the documentary Cowspiracy. The report explains the environmental repercussions of meat and dairy consumption, in addition to the obvious animal abuse that is carried out for the massive consumption of meat.” It was a slap of reality that made me aware and once you cross that door it is difficult to give go back, and you only have two options left: be consistent with the new version of you or live in a constant attempt to deceive yourself to continue justifying your actions,” he explained some time ago about his choice.

Clara Lago has starred in top-grossing Spanish films, such as Tengo ganas de ti and Ocho apellidos vascos. In recent days, she has started filming Clanes, a new series produced by Vaca Films for Netflix that will address the world of drug trafficking in Galicia. Jorge Guerricaechevarría is the creator and screenwriter of this new fiction, which will be directed by Roger Gual. It will be shot over the next few months in various locations in Galicia, Malaga, Gibraltar, Algeciras, Madrid, Porto and Senegal.
