The former Big Brother contestant, Chiqui, is suffering from a drama that affects her own home. The problem is due to the fact that she could lose her home and that of her family due to the construction of an open-air mine to create cement in Campo de Cartagena and that would also affect the environmental habitat.

Chiqui denounces what the 800 affected families are experiencing, among which are many dependents, since many people over 90 years of age live in the area. “There are older people who are going to lose their homes, my parents are dependent, where are they going to go? Under a bridge?

The former Big Brother contestant has told the Telecinco Socialité program that the construction of that mine would make it impossible to live in the area for five years. “The molecules that the mine transmits would make it impossible to live in the area,” and she also points out that it would affect the animals and the environment in the Cartagena countryside.

Faced with the ordeal she is experiencing, Chiqui appeals to the authorities of Cartagena and the Region of Murcia: “We don’t want to leave our homes, we don’t want the coal mine,” and encourages everyone in the area to go to the demonstration next Thursday, September 7 under the slogan “The field of Cartagena is not for sale.”

Chiqui concludes that this is affecting the “Cartagena lung” with particles that are carcinogenic and that harms everyone. “You do not have to destroy our habitat of life, the environment, there are seven generations of my family that have lived here,” says the former Big Brother contestant through tears. The woman from Murcia has also pointed out that there are other ways of creating cement that do not harm the area.
