Barbara Rey is going through one of the most delicate moments of her life. Last Friday the news broke that the vedette had been accused of an alleged crime of misappropriation of assets, with which she would have to face a three-year prison sentence. The presenter would have been involved in several financial operations to create “a situation of economic defenselessness” and thus not have to pay a debt of 143,902.24 euros to the Tax Agency.
The actress had to sit on the defendant’s bench this Monday, June 19, at the Provincial Court of Madrid. But she is not the only one involved in these events. Her two children, Sofía Cristo and Ángel Cristo Jr. have also been accused of the same crime as her mother, for which they have also had to sit on the defendant’s bench.
For this reason, the EuropaPress cameras have been able to obtain the first statements from the daughter of Bárbara Rey, who has reappeared with her mother. Sofía Cristo was very calm, like her mother about the information that had come out. ”We are fine and we don’t owe anyone a penny,” said the DJ.
“We owe nothing to the Treasury,” stressed Bárbara Rey. ”Like all actors many years ago, we have had problems with the Treasury because we invoice through companies, as they have all done, and then later to a natural person, because they changed it,” she explained. The vedette also stressed that this issue has already been brought to trial and she paid everything she owed, so she did not understand where this information came from now.
The two assured that a statement on the subject would be released this week, but they were very baffled about everything that was happening. “It almost always happens when there are elections or when the Treasury is going to be paid,” declared the actress. ”Or to cover up shit,” said Sofía Cristo.
About whether there could be someone behind all this matter, Sofía Cristo was very clear. ”It’s quite a coincidence that the documentary comes out, the series comes out and now this happens. We have been up to date with the Treasury for a long time,” she confessed.
