Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Child Seeks to Drop Actor’s Name

Another one of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s children is taking steps to distance themselves from their famous father. On her 18th birthday, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt filed to legally remove “Pitt” from her name, with the anticipated new moniker being “Shiloh Jolie.” This move follows other children of the former couple also indicating a desire to separate from their father. Last weekend, theatergoers noticed that Vivienne was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in a playbill, suggesting she may have changed her name as well.

Along with Shiloh, Vivienne, Zahara, and Maddox no longer use Pitt’s surname. Zahara introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” while joining Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College, and Maddox reportedly doesn’t use Pitt’s last name on unofficial documents. Despite these actions, the former couple has not finalized their divorce, with Angelina Jolie originally filing in 2016 for full custody of their six children.

It remains unclear how much contact the children have with Brad Pitt. Pax, in a 2020 Father’s Day post, criticized his father for his behavior, calling him a “world class a–hole” and accusing him of causing emotional harm to his children. The kids have reportedly been estranged from Pitt since a 2016 incident on a private jet. While legally declared single in 2019, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still in the process of finalizing their divorce.
