There is very little time left to find out in what position Spain is located in the Eurovision 2023 points table. The grand final of the contest will take place next Saturday, May 13, so all the contestant countries are already finalizing the details of their performances. This Saturday, Blanca Paloma went up again on the stage of the M

The Spanish representative already went up to the imposing Eurovision stage last Thursday, and has done it again this Saturday. The objective was to perfect the staging of EaEa, the theme that will represent Spain in the contest, with some visual adjustments. However, the performance is still very similar to what was seen at the Benidorm Fest, so there are no too drastic changes.

The performance began without any significant change. The main innovations have been concentrated in the second section of the song, after the initial sequence shot that takes place during the first minute, as reported by RTVE. The light show has undergone some changes compared to Thursday’s test, and new camera moments have been articulated. All this has to do with the technical sphere.

“The most substantial change has been a shot towards the end of the performance that seemed very dirty to us and did not work on screen. The rest of the shots are masterful,” says José Pablo Polo, producer and composer of the song. Apparently, these arrangements would have left the team calmer, since they would have solved the problem detected last Thursday.

The truth is that the staging of the performance is measured with a magnifying glass, since the result is expected to be impeccable. In fact, as explained by Bentor Albelo and Javier Rojo, responsible for the staging, a total of 12 cameras are used during the performance to record the 35 shots that make up the story to be transmitted.

On the other hand, it has been learned that in this Saturday’s rehearsal even more importance has been given to the stream of light that is projected on the artist’s hand when she kneels on stage. And it is that in this performance, light is essential. According to reports from the aforementioned chain, a spotlight technique will be applied at the beginning of the performance to leave the scenes that have to appear later in the dark. “This technique gives symbolism to the whole concept of Blanca Paloma and her proposal,” explains Álvaro Guisado Garavito, in charge of lighting the performance.

In addition to the changes in the staging, the Spanish representative wanted to modify the song, substituting the sustained note for the final note of the study song. It is a note that until now had not been heard, so it is a new version of her well-known cante.

As we said, the trial has been a complete success. The young woman has been rehearsing in the venue for about twenty minutes. After the rehearsal on Thursday, some notes were taken, arrangements that were finalized this Saturday. Now, with this second rehearsal, the performance is much closer to perfection.
