Millions of fans of the series The Last of Us around the world are in shock after learning that actress Ashley Johnson, who plays Ellie’s mother in the HBO fiction, has filed a lawsuit against her ex-partner Brian Wayne Foster in which she accuses him of having exercised “domestic violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, sexual assault and harassment, and harassment” on her.
Last May, Johnson began legal proceedings against Foster and requested a restraining order against her ex, since he had tried to extort her. In the artist’s statement, she defended that she was a victim of strong verbal violence caused by a “very disturbed mind due to her addictive use of narcotics.”
According to the actress’s testimony, after having the restraining and protection order, her ex began to manipulate the security cameras and microphones in her house to monitor her. Furthermore, he would have wanted to scare her by modifying two airsoft pistols to make them look like real weapons.
”Foster’s threats to extort Johnson by divulging personal information, as well as his constant acts of physical intimidation, including, but not limited to, punching through glass, throwing objects and yelling obscenities in Johnson’s face, have left Johnson scared. “, intimidated, unbalanced, confused, traumatized and under constant coercion for years,” says the lawsuit filed by the woman, which was made public through the American portal Page Six.
After a few very hard months, Johnson has reflected and has come to the conclusion that his ex-partner is a ”sociopath”, since he was always willing to lie to comply with his will. An example of this is when he would trick other women and tell them that he was in an open relationship to have sex with them.
It should be noted that the American actress’s lawsuit has been joined by six other women who also suffered sexual violence at the hands of Foster. One of them is Haylie Langseth, Ashley’s sister, who defends that she was the victim of an episode of wild comments by her ex-brother-in-law. While three other women claim to have been ”groped” by the writer, Danielle Carr has revealed that she was the victim of sexist comments and that she felt so pressured to send him intimate photos that she had to do it. Maude Garrett, for her part, kissed the alleged abuser believing that she had an open relationship. When he found out that he was not, the man threatened and insulted him.
When the restraining order placed on him by his ex became public, the author responded by talking about his addictions: ”The real loss for me is the inspiration that my story has been for people around the world who know my journey to recovery from the consumption of heroin, alcohol and other substances that I used to self-medicate, and who have been inspired by my stories, my music and my writings to quit smoking or seek help.”
For the moment, Foster has not commented on the different lawsuits that accuse him of mistreatment and sexual abuse. She must say that social networks have turned to women and that thousands of users from all over the world are commenting on the issue, sending support and affection to the alleged victims.
