Brais Tomé García, a member of the Togayán duo and known for lightening the hardest days of the pandemic for the residents of Noia (A Coruña), died this Monday at the age of 36 in a traffic accident, according to the newspaper La Voz de Galicia. According to this media, his car collided with a truck when he was traveling from Tarragona, where he works in a refinery.
Tomé was the only occupant of the vehicle that, around midday this Monday, collided with the rear of a truck at kilometer 286 of the A-68 as it passed through the province of Zaragoza.
According to this medium, the young man’s body is expected to arrive this Wednesday at the Pompas Fúnebres del Noroeste funeral home in Noia, where he will be watched by friends and family. He will remain there until tomorrow, Thursday.
Tomé was a member of the Togayán duo, which also included his father, José Ramón Tomé Mayán. Both hosted festivals, parties, baptisms, weddings and any other private celebration for which they were hired.
Its popularity increased since the pandemic. Every afternoon, father and son went out to the terrace of the building where they lived to make the confinement more bearable for the residents of Noia. An animation that soon went viral on social networks, where they had a good number of followers.
However, despite his prominence during those days, the pandemic cut short his artistic career. Tomé had to look for a new occupation, which he found in a refinery in Tarragona.
