The image could not be more surprising: after the scandal over the digital editing of the photograph of the Princess of Wales and her three children on Instagram, Kate Middleton herself appeared in a car with her husband, who later went alone to the celebrating Commonwealth Day with other members of the British royal family.
Bennet, who was present to take that snapshot, has spoken with journalist Silvia Taulés to explain that the photograph was taken casually; And what is most surprising: he cannot guarantee that it is Kate, the Palace confirmed it.
Kensington confirmed that the person in the car with Prince William was the Princess of Wales, although he did not give any further details about where she was going, beyond saying that it was a “private engagement.”
According to Bennet, who has more than 40 years of experience in the photojournalism sector, the photo was taken by chance while trying to take a photo of the heir before arriving at Westminster Abbey, where the Commonwealth events were to take place. .
“When we later saw the photographs on the computer, we saw that there was someone else in the car. She looked like the Princess of Wales, but we were not one hundred percent sure,” explained the photographer in the interview, broadcast on TardeAR. “We later confirmed with the Palace that it was she who was in the car with Prince William. The Palace told us that she had a private engagement.”
For Bennet, however, it was not very clear who the other person in the car was. The photographer maintains that “they don’t know who she is” and that it is the Palace who claims it is Kate Middleton.”
Bennet’s words, however, confirm something else: the photograph taken is real and two people were traveling in the vehicle, contrary to what has been said in some sectors. “We are not authorized to manipulate any photograph that we later have to sell. Under no circumstances,” he insisted.
