MIM Group, present at stand B259 at SIL Barcelona, is a holding company specializing in maintenance and industrial machinery. What were the beginnings of MIM Group?
We started as a company of five people specializing in the maintenance of the automotive auxiliary sector and in 20 years we have become a holding company that has developed a 360º system of intralogistics services from an industrial approach and focused on automated maintenance. To reach this point we have adapted to the different production and storage philosophies and to the different economic cycles, crises included. We have been growing at the same time as the demand for intralogistics services within the maintenance services channel.
What services does your holding company cover and in what sectors?
We offer both B2C companies and B2B companies comprehensive industrial maintenance services, basic maintenance, engineering and automation, mechanical solutions and industrial cleaning. Our mission is to make the installations of its clients more efficient and productive. We operate in Spain and Portugal mainly for the fashion and food intralogistics sectors.
How does your 360º approach work?
We attack any incident that a client may have from different specializations and through a quick technical response. For example, if a production line stops, we analyze it and send it to the technical specialist if the solution must be corrective. At the same time, we are working on a preventive solution with our on-site team, and a predictive analysis is scheduled, so that in the future if said problem arises again, it can be fixed.
What indicators do customers use to measure them and how do they help them to be more efficient?
Service rate and availability are the main indicators. Also improving the costs of services; prolonging the life of the elements, minimizing interventions and maintaining stable human service teams. People are essential and retaining talent is difficult in a growing sector. We have our own training departments and we consider that professionals play a central and critical role in our work: it takes us on average four years to train a good technician.
What technological advances do you apply when talking about business 4.0?
MIM Group started working on sensorics in 2012, long before other companies. Our industry 4.0 model goes through predictive maintenance, sensors or machine learning. With all this we convert hidden, unconnected, hidden data into organized, understandable and optimized knowledge, allowing our clients to maximize their resources. We connect data and sensors to intralogistics maintenance services.
