The first, the Mustang California Special, puts a modern touch on a special edition first introduced in 1968. And the second, the Mustang Nite Pony Package, adds even more personality with design upgrades.
And taking advantage of such an important anniversary, Ford is expanding the range of its electric Mustang, the Mach-E, with the Mustang Mach-E Rally version, inspired by the form of rallying.
Ford will open orders on April 30 for the Mustang Mach-E Rally. In addition, the oval brand announces the first details of the ordering process for the high-performance Mustang GTD. Another gift for the Mustang’s birthday.
A special edition that reflects the style of the famous American West Coast. It is available in eight colors, including silver and blue. It incorporates its own elements such as side stripes in a combination of Light Rave Blue and Glossy Black and an exclusive GT/CS logo. Also special are the 19-inch alloy wheels, with Rave Blue details. Or the GT/CS badging on the front grille and a GT badging on the boot lid.
The interior of the Mustang California Special stands out for the Navy Pier upholstery and the Ebony Black leather seats, with two-tone stitching in Raptor Blue and Metallic Gray. Stitching also present on the dashboard, doors, steering wheel and center console.
The Mustang California Special is now available to order in Mustang GT convertible body, with a choice of six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission for the 5.0-liter V8 engine.
The Nite Pony offers Mustang customers the chance to add a dark touch to their sports car. It is available in Mustang GT coupe and convertible versions, with a choice of manual or automatic transmission for the 5.0-liter V8 engine.
The Nite Pony includes the alloy wheels, roof, mirror caps and headlight trims painted in Ebony Black. Or the front and rear Pony emblems.
Designed to turn heads on asphalt or dirt, the Mustang Mach-E Rally features two racing stripes, a unique front end, a dramatic rear spoiler and 19-inch gloss white alloy wheels inspired by the Ford’s long history in rally competitions.
It uses a dual-motor, four-wheel drive electric drive with 486 HP of power. The custom-tuned suspension is 20mm higher than that of the Mustang Mach-E GT to increase ground clearance on dirt surfaces.
Ford also confirms that the Mustang GTD is coming to Europe, although in a small number of units. The American brand claims that it is the boldest and most advanced Mustang in history.
We are talking about a high-performance vehicle approved for street driving that incorporates cutting-edge technology, such as active aerodynamics and semi-active suspension.
Those attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will be held on June 15 and 16, will be able to see the Mustang GTD in action, in addition to seeing the Mustang GT3 compete. European applications for the Mustang GTD are expected to open this summer.
