Mini mobile homes are becoming more and more surprising. Many proposals incorporate all kinds of luxuries and comforts. Others are more minimalist and with an avant-garde design style for those who love urban trends but who decide to live in a natural environment. And some, like those at Utopian Villas, are true treats for “older kids.”
The latest mini mobile home that this firm has presented is the complete opposite of a toy house, although it seems that way, since it is designed for adults who are looking for a functional home that at the same time presents a ground-breaking aesthetic. And make it mobile, of course.
This is the Dragonfly, an elegant mini-house packed with ingenious solutions to make the most of its 18.5 square meters. The most striking thing is that it opens on both sides simultaneously, revealing an interior with several hidden treasures.
It measures 8.5 meters in length and is designed to accommodate three people. It is cozy and boasts a modern and rustic aesthetic at the same time, with many elements made of natural wood, which do not hide an unconventional spirit.
It has a generous open ground floor with kitchen, living room and bathroom and an elevated loft-style bedroom. The spectacular combination of metal and wood panels highlights the sloped roof with skylights and gives way to two large hinged exterior platforms with access steps, which unfold on either side of the central section.
With these “wings” spread (hence its name, dragonfly in English), a pair of porches are obtained that give the feeling of being outdoors but sheltered. This is also achieved thanks to the glass doors and its large windows. This original solution not only completely opens the Dragonfly to the outside, but also creates a much larger living room as if by magic, without compromising people’s mobility.
Another smart solution is found in the kitchen counter, which is expanded by a retractable table in order to obtain additional space for eating or cooking. On the other hand, instead of the typical loft-style staircase with integrated wardrobes, this tiny house incorporates a staircase cleverly hidden behind a storage area (sliding and asymmetrical) with drawers of different styles and that looks like a closet at first glance.
Thanks to this peculiar element, there is enough space to incorporate a dining room with a table and matching stools narrow enough to fit under the table when not in use, saving even more space and leaving the area clear to move around freely.
At one end of the house there is a cozy little living room with a more intimate atmosphere, designed for example as a reading corner, with long shelves that also serve as a bookcase. The sofa can be converted into an extra bed at night. The bathroom is located at the other end of the house.
The price of the Dragonfly mini motorhome starts at 97,500 euros (although there is an even more compact option for 80,000 euros). In the video that accompanies this article you will be able to see one of the many luxury proposals from Utopian Villas to surprise you with their ingenious solutions.
