A vehicle suddenly entered the lobby of a building located on Lagasca Street, in the Madrid district of Salamanca. The driver of the SUV was traveling on that road when she lost control of the car, she said.
Without being able to avoid it, the car ended up inside the portal, hitting the building’s elevators squarely, while two people were inside.
The Madrid City Council Firefighters carried out the task of extracting the vehicle from the portal, managing to rescue the driver and the two people who were in the elevators at that time, all of them unharmed. Fortunately, there were no injuries to report.
The collaboration of the Madrid Municipal Police has been fundamental in the intervention. According to an eyewitness, the goalkeeper’s chair has suffered serious damage during the incident.
The exact cause of the incident is currently unknown. However, according to local media reports, the version provided by the woman implies that she “lost control of the car” while she was trying to park. According to her testimony, she stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, which resulted in the accident.
