One of the big launches of the diamond automobile company is the new electric Renault 5, whose first units will begin to be delivered after the summer. Although there are still several months until that moment arrives, the brand will begin accepting orders from the general public starting next May 31. We make the section for the general public because it can be ordered first by those who, last March, bought the priority access pass – called R5 R Pass – to purchase the car before others and receive it from the first.
Thousands of people signed up for this waiting list without knowing the price of the car. Well, now Renault has made it public and, as already announced, the most basic version costs around 25,000 euros, although the first variants to hit the market are more expensive and cost from 32,900 euros (without discounts).
The electric Renault 5 E-Tech will be available in 5 finishes (five, evolution, techno, iconic cinq and the special Roland-Garros series), two batteries (40 kWh or 52 kWh) and three motors (70 kW, 90 kW or 110 kW). The first units that can be ordered correspond to the version with the 52 kWh battery, which can travel up to 410 kilometers on a charge.
This variant, available with the techno (32,900 euros) and iconic cinq (34,900 euros) finishes, is combined with the highest power engine (equivalent to 150 HP), which allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds and recover from 80 to 120 km/h in less than 7 seconds. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 150 km/h.
The cars equipped with the lowest capacity battery, whose range is up to 300 kilometers, will go on sale in 2025, with a starting price of 24,900 euros before aid, that is, they will be cheaper than other iconic models. that have become electric: the Fiat 500e, whose official price on the website (without discounts or promotions) is 29,000 euros.
The two most powerful versions of the range (90 kW and 110 kW) will be available with a bidirectional 11 kW AC charger, which will allow V2L (vehicle-to-load) functions to connect a device to the car battery and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) functions to return electricity to the grid and save money on home charging. The 70 kW variant will only have a conventional 11 kW charger and will not be able to connect to fast outlets.
Customers who purchased their R5 R Pass will be the first to be able to place orders for the 100% electric Renault 5 E-Tech in techno and iconic cinq versions with the 52 kWh battery. The brand assures that all of them are being contacted by the Renault network dealer they chose and will have until May 30 (inclusive) to configure and order their copy. From that moment on, they will be among the first customers to whom the vehicle will be delivered.
The 100% electric Renault 5 E-Tech with comfort autonomy and techno version is available through the Preference multi-option credit from 155 euros per month, which includes 3 years of maintenance. It can also be purchased from 32,900 euros without including discounts or aid. Like the entire range of Renault electric vehicles, the 100% electric Renault 5 E-Tech can benefit from the MOVES III Program (up to 7,000 euros) and the personal income tax deduction (up to 3,000 euros).
