The choice of sustainable mobility options is not limited to vehicles for everyday use. In the motorhome market, there has been a wide variety of zero-emission models for some time, in line with the change in focus that the automotive industry is undergoing. These proposals continue to evolve, offering increasingly attractive alternatives to consumers.
Recently, a group of motorhome experts based in the Netherlands have chosen to use the electric Mercedes-Benz EQV van as the basis for their latest creation. One year after starring in one of the most impressive launches in the world of campers with its Mercedes-Benz EQV Touring, Tonke once again surprises lovers of the sector with the EQV Nomad, an electric motorhome that offers exceptional performance.
With a power of 201 CV, this electric version offers a range of 360 kilometers thanks to its advanced 100 kWh battery pack, which powers a 150 kW electric motor. By adapting it to become a motorhome, you get the perfect combination: an ideal camper to undertake all kinds of adventures.
Compared to the Adventure model, also launched in 2022, the recent Nomad variant dispenses with the conventional gas burner and instead adopts an induction hob. Additionally, a sliding kitchen has been placed outside the door, specially designed for cooking outdoors.
This section also serves as an improvised work space. The cover of the two-burner induction hob, which is located behind the driver’s seat, can be easily removed. This configuration is particularly suitable for those who enjoy preparing their own meals.
The kitchen can be used both indoors and outdoors and is fully equipped. It includes a sink with a removable hose that can also be used as an outdoor shower.
As standard, the induction cooktop is powered via a 230V socket, but Tonke also offers the option of adding an EcoFlow power supply. This alternative is a very useful option to connect other devices, such as a laptop, smartphone and other essential devices for teleworking.
The EQV Nomad has space to comfortably accommodate four people, with the option of expanding it, although with certain adaptations in terms of functionality. During the night, the three-seater rear seat can be folded down to transform into a 145 x 203 cm bed to accommodate two people. If necessary, the roof can be raised to create an additional sleeping area prepared for two more people.
The trailer’s bed sits on a drawer system located at the rear. It can be used to house an optional 31-litre cooler, luggage, cargo boxes or camping gear, as well as an extra seat.
In contrast to the Adventure model, the recent Nomad variant is more complete due to the versatility offered by the kitchen, both indoors and outdoors, which transforms into a space to work in the middle of nature. The starting version of the EQV Nomad is 77,019 euros, which increases as the user opts for the additional options offered by the manufacturer.
