BYD, the largest manufacturer of plug-in vehicles in the world, enhances its range of models with the arrival of the Seal U in our market, now available in the 11 dealerships that the brand has in Spain. It is a 100% electric car, spacious, practical and comfortable.
The BYD Seal U, powered by a 160 kW (218 HP) block, is available in two trim levels, called Comfort and Design. The first has a price of 42,290 euros, which can be reduced to 34,080 euros once the Moves III Plan and BYD Moves Support are applied. If financing is used, the final price is 32,080 euros. In the case of the Seal U Design, the rate starts at 45,790 euros and can be reduced to 37,580 euros and 35,580 euros, respectively. Seal U brings together multiple arguments to convince the client. Below we explain five of its greatest virtues.
The length of 4.78 m, width of 1.89 m and height of 1.66 m place the Seal U in the D segment of the market. The habitability is good, thanks to a wheelbase of 2,765 mm and the flat floor for the rear seats. This model stands out for its legroom and the possibilities of modular trunk, whose capacity ranges between 552 and 1,440 liters. Functionality is reinforced with storage compartments, cupholders in the center console, four USB ports and wireless charging for smartphones.
Both Comfort and Design finishes are equipped with BYD’s Blade Battery, which does not require nickel and cobalt and has been developed to optimize safety, durability, longevity, performance and space utilization. The Comfort version has a capacity of 71.8 kWh and a range of 420 km. In the Seal U Design, the capacity grows to 87 kWh and 500 km of autonomy.
It equips the Intelligent Cockpit system manageable from a touch screen with electrical rotation, which can be 12.8 or 15.6 inches. Connectivity can also be executed remotely, using a smartphone, from the BYD app. The instrumentation is 100% digital, thanks to a 12.3” screen. The Seal U also has a 4G connection, integrated Spotify and HERE navigation, smartphone integration and “Hi BYD” voice assistant.
It offers a high level of passive and active safety. It is equipped with advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) that use four radars and a camera responsible for monitoring traffic, warning the driver or even intervening if there is a risk of an accident. Examples of this section are forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, rear collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane change assist, intelligent speed limit control, blind spot detection system , etc.
Located in the D segment and with a very complete set of equipment in its two versions, the Seal U offers a very favorable relationship between price and product. The Design finish comes standard with elements such as music-reactive ambient lighting, air purification system, Infinity sound system, head-up display, rain-sensing windshield wipers or dynamic welcome light. The Seal U features power-adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats as standard, plus a panoramic sunroof.
