More than four decades have passed since the death of the man who was considered the greatest exponent and disseminator of reggae, Jamaican music and the Rastafari movement. We are referring to the legendary Bob Marley who, despite the passage of time, continues to have followers all over the world. One of the most recent tributes to his figure comes from the bicycle firm State Bicycle Co.
The brand has decided to pay tribute to the artist with a very special line of bikes and it must be taken into account that Marley’s own family has collaborated with her to make these two-wheeled creations a reality. The line is made up of three different bikes. The first is the 4130 Road with a black background frame and two Rastafarian flags on the tube that is located in a diagonal position.
The words “One Love” and “State” in white, as well as a yellow lion are other decorations on the frame of this bicycle. In contrast to the color of the frame, the exterior of the saddle is made of hemp fiber and is cream in color. The second alternative is another 4130 Road, with the same structure but this time with a tan frame.
Although the saddle remains in the same tone as in the version mentioned above, the details of “One Love”, “State” and the lion are black in this case. To continue with the tribute to Bob Marley, a reproduction of his signature also appears as decoration on one of the sides of the vehicle in the two versions reviewed, which have a gear change.
The third bicycle on the list is a redesigned Klunker in which the Rastafarian spirit could not be missing either. Without a doubt, it is the most striking and colorful of the three that make up this line of vehicles dedicated to Bob Marley. The frame combines gradient tones of green, yellow and red and everything is designed to not go unnoticed when driving.
The decorative details that also make up the other two models are in this case black. For this version, State Bicycle Co. also includes an additional element that gives it a special touch. This is a frame bag that is made of hemp fiber, as is the exterior of the saddle.
We will perceive another of its peculiarities when we look at the handlebars, since it does not have brake levers. And this model, which has a single speed (without gear change), has a coaster brake, so it is stopped by pedaling backwards.
As for prices, these range from 475 euros for the Klunker variant to 570 euros for the 4130 Road versions. The manufacturer has also launched a line of clothing and cycling accessories to match these bicycles.
