Tesla’s latest software update, called 2024.2.12, has introduced important improvements to the driving screen and, above all, to the Autopark functionality, as reported by specialized portals such as Teslascope and Not a Tesla App.
This new version, initially reserved for Tesla employees under the number 2024.2.11, has been rolled out to a broader group of testers, bringing out great innovations that promise to revolutionize the driving experience of Teslas, especially those that lack of ultrasonic sensors.
One of the most notable features of this update is Autopark Vision, a functionality that allows vehicles to park automatically without the need for sensors, using artificial intelligence neural networks instead.
This improved version of the Autopark system has been shown in a video shared by Space Cat, demonstrating the vehicle’s ability to identify suitable parking spaces instantly and perform the parking maneuver by simply pressing the Start button on the screen.
Autopark’s new system, operating comprehensively with artificial intelligence, not only improves the parking experience in Tesla vehicles, but also lays the foundation for future innovations in driver assistance.
Although Tesla has promised an even more advanced version of Autopark, which would allow drivers to exit the vehicle while it parks itself, such functionality, dubbed Banish by Elon Musk, has not yet been included in the release notes for the 2024.2 update. 12.
In addition to improvements to Autopark, the update includes advancements to driving visualization, as part of an overall overhaul of Tesla’s user interface, which the company has been working on for more than a year. These new representations, which have already generated a lot of expectation among those who have had access to them, are expected to considerably improve the driver’s interaction with the driving assistance system.
Meanwhile, the much-lauded Beta V12.3 version of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software continues to impress owners of Tesla cars manufactured in 2023, although those with vehicles manufactured in 2024 are still waiting to install this version.
Tesla is expected to merge the software branches in the coming months, continuing its practice of integrating new features tested in advanced versions of the software into production versions.
