Custom motorcycles experienced an explosion of popularity at the beginning of this 21st century. Barcelona organized the “Harley Days” and became the world capital of the genre and practically all the important brands had a couple or more models in their catalogues.
They were beautiful, comfortable, customizable motorcycles that did not advocate speed and served to socialize. There was an authentic custom phenomenon that filled the roads with motorcycles of American lines and the cities with fans of line dancing and country fashion.
And almost suddenly, just as they came, the custom disappeared. Probably because they were motorcycles with a playful component and above-average prices that no longer fit well with the times of crisis and hardship that were knocking on the door.
Today only Honda, Harley-Davidson and Indian maintain Cruiser-style big displacement models; and these last two have a hard time. The tariffs with which American steel is charged in Europe -in contrast to what the US Administration does with products from the Old Continent- and the general logistical increase take their toll, as do unfavorable times for ostentatious vehicles.
However, although the large Cruisers with large displacement do not seem to be going through their best moment, the same cannot be said of the custom of medium displacement, understanding as such those of 500 to 650 cc.
Little by little, models are arriving that announce a new resurgence of the category and it is understandable to the extent that they are perfect multipurpose proposals for both the city and the highway, which are liked by both male and female users and with quiet and elastic engines that spend like a lighter
In addition, they do not go out of style, their commercial life is much longer than that of models subject to changes practically every two years and they are better valued in the used market. Oh… and you can drive with the A2 license!
