Ferrari is making its debut. The Italian company has just presented its latest novelty, the Ferrari 12Cilindri, a two-seater berlinetta that embodies the DNA of the Prancing Horse brand and its legacy in the automobile industry. Equipped with a naturally aspirated V12 engine, this model continues Ferrari’s tradition of providing its vehicles with a powerplant of these characteristics that has already become a symbol for the Maranello firm.
The new Ferrari 12Cilindri, with its 830 HP V12 engine, challenges the trend towards electrification that many brands have adopted in recent years to keep alive a tradition rooted in Maranello since 1947.
The Ferrari 12Cilindri has an F140HD engine, the latest version of the iconic Maranello naturally aspirated V12, with 830 HP and 9,500 rpm, located in the front central position. This engine inherits features from the special 812 Competizione series, with titanium connecting rods and aluminum pistons, reducing mass and improving performance.
The aerodynamics have been optimized to offer a continuous and forceful response, with an electronic control that adapts the torque delivery according to the gear engaged. The direct gasoline injection system, the new exhaust system and the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission guarantee exceptional performance. The Ferrari 12Cilindri accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and exceeds 340 km/h.
Ferrari’s new creation is inspired by the Ferrari Gran Turismo of the 50s and 60s. With carefully designed aerodynamics to offer exceptional performance, the design of the 12Cilindri aims to radically transform the stylistic codes of Ferrari’s previous V12s. Although the Ferrari 12Cilindri is the successor to the 812 Superfast, its design has more in common with the classic Gran Turismo models than with its predecessor.
Flavio Manzoni and the designers of the Centro Stile Ferrari have achieved a more sophisticated but rigorous look, with essential main lines and interconnected volumes. The car moves away from the sculptural language to adopt a more functional and technological style, maintaining the characteristic Ferrari sensuality. The measurements of the two-seater are 4.73 m long, 2.18 m wide and 1.29 m high.
The interior of the Ferrari 12Cilindri is organized into three levels – upper, central and lower -, with a design inspired by a double cabin architecture and a symmetrical layout that guarantees high comfort for both the driver and the passenger. It stands out for its horizontal dashboard, which clearly divides the upper and lower volumes, while the side panels are an extension of the dashboard, with contrasting cuts and materials to highlight the elegance and sportiness of the two-seater interior.
A generously sized tinted glass roof is incorporated into the cabin, improving the luminosity of the interior. This roof integrates perfectly into the upper part of the cabin, creating continuity between the windshield and the rear window and providing a unique feeling of space and spaciousness.
The Ferrari 12Cilindri will be available in two versions, the Coupé and the Spider. This latest version, according to Maranello estimates, is expected to represent more than 50% of reservations. In Italy, the starting price of the 12Cilindri will be 395,000 euros, VAT and taxes included, while the Spider will start at 435,000 euros.
The first deliveries are scheduled for late 2024 and early 2025, respectively. The Italian company, which has not made prices public in Spain, remembers that it offers a maintenance program for its vehicles during the first 7 years of the car’s life.
