That the world has changed, the economy has been transformed and the industry has been revolutionized is an obvious reality. The changes in the productive systems of the companies, which we predicted for the coming years, have precipitated to respond, suddenly, to the new paradigms of the economy. And it is that the passage of the pandemic through our lives has meant a revolution in many aspects and this has also reached, with special force, the logistics and packaging sector, where growth data has been demonstrating how these two sectors have managed to maintain connected to the world.

All these changes and new realities will have their time and space in Pick

In its third edition, the event will bring together more than 6,000 professionals from all over Spain who will make Madrid the largest meeting point for the actors that are part of the packaging, picking and distribution value chain. On the other side, companies such as MSC, Antalis, DHL, Grupo CTC, LPR, Minsait, Tetra Pack, Adecco, Carreras, Element Logic, Elopak, Fieldeas, GXO, Jungheinrich, Knauf Industries, Markem-Imaje, Sage, Grupo Sesé, SP Group, Swisslog, System Logistics, Toyota or ULMA, among many others, will present their innovations to automate and make packaging, intralogistics and logistics more sustainable.

In total, more than 180 exhibiting firms will show the latest solutions in logistics robotics, traceability, supply chain, labeling and coding, and packaging and packaging materials. The application of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, additive manufacturing and 3D Printing and IIoT, among others, will also be announced.

For the first time, the summit will feature the Sustainability and Circularity Summit, which aims to explain in detail the changes that are being implemented in the intralogistics, logistics and packaging industries to comply with the new European regulations and contribute to the decarbonization. In turn, and also as a novelty, the Mobility Summit will take place, hand in hand with AEDIVE (Business Association for the Development and Promotion of the Electric Vehicle), where the challenge of logistics within cities will be addressed due to the boom of e-commerce and the last mile.

Together with more than 160 experts, four congresses will also be held within the framework of the summit, two of them dedicated to intralogistics and logistics, and another two focused on packaging. The forums will deepen the digital and sustainable transformation that both industries are experiencing, and will resolve the concerns that have arisen as a result of the current socioeconomic situation.

What do we mean when we talk about sustainable packaging? The National Packaging 4.0 Congress wants to answer this question, which will analyze how companies live the regulations that came into force last January to reduce packaging with new plastic. The forum will also focus on innovation through “Smart packaging”, examples of metaverse in the industry or successful business concepts that arose from entrepreneurial talent, such as Glovo, Food for Joe or Re-pot market . Likewise, the congress will delve into the law on inclusive labeling that the Government is working on, hand in hand with the Kellogg success story and the NaviLens code (which makes the brand’s food accessible to people with visual disabilities) and will reflect on what is yet to come in packaging this 2023 together with representatives of Aimplas, Tetra Pak, SP Group, Vichy Catalan Corporation, Antalis Iberia or the Packaging Cluster.

The issues that concern industrial professionals linked to intralogistics and logistics will also have their space at the European Logistics Summit 2023, where important aspects will be discussed by leading experts. This is the case of María Luisa Romero, general director of Palibex, the leading urgent transport network for pallets in Spain; o Camila Emilia Oyharzabal, Logistics and Supply Chain Manager of South American Trendy, a company that has the official representation of Swatch in Argentina. It will be in this space where the management of automation will be put on the table after an accelerated digitization due to the pandemic, the state of e-commerce after moderating this 2023, the new sustainability in the supply chain or how to take advantage of the last mile, where the processes are expensive.

Finally, the X Alimarket Logistics Mass Consumption Meeting will focus on technology as the basis for optimizing the entire distribution line in order to reduce waiting times, gain competitiveness, reduce the number of emissions and avoid product deterioration. The congress will have representatives from Nestlé, Media Markt, Grupo Choví, DHL, Bonduelle or Consum, among many other companies, who will reveal the strategies they follow to improve their intralogistics, logistics and last-mile processes in Iberian and international terms.

They will not be the only initiatives. The Spanish Association of Purchasing, Contracting and Supply Professionals (AERCE) will organize a professional session that will revolve around innovation and sustainability, and that will bring together buyers from all over Spain. And there will also be a Technological Tour organized by the Spanish Association of Robotics and Automation (AER) to learn about the main digital novelties with which to optimize the intralogistics, logistics and packaging sectors.
