In 2010 Nissan was ahead of the rest of the manufacturers with the launch of the Juke, one of the models that created the B-SUV segment. With an unconventional design, the Japanese firm’s intention was to shock, generate controversy, awaken love or hate with it and achieve a polarizing effect.

It was an iconic car that broke the mold from an aesthetic point of view and that caught on and was liked in all markets; hence it has accumulated more than 1.3 million units sold.

In 2014, with a mid-market update that brands usually apply to their models to “refresh” the product and maintain customer interest, Nissan introduced a striking yellow color to the Juke’s palette of color options. It was, once again, a risky move that, however, made sense in the case of a vehicle whose spirit and role was to surprise, impact and attract attention, generating notoriety for the brand.

Acceptance was once again good among customers and, despite the fact that yellow is a very minority color, the percentage of sales of the Juke with this shade was close to 4% of the total; a very significant register for a tone that is usually liked, but that generates doubts and reservations when choosing it and “living” with it every day in a car for utility use.

Now, with the 2024 update of the new Juke, presented in 2019, Nissan repeats its strategy and pulls – once again – on audacity and daring, recovering yellow for the color range of its popular B-segment SUV. In Spain, The yellow Juke can only be purchased as a special limited series called IKON and consisting of only 300 units that will be the top-of-the-range version of the model.

In the rest of Europe this version will be called N-Sport, following the current nomenclature of the rest of the names in the range: N-Connecta, N-Design… Among the distinctive features of the Juke IKON, in addition to its yellow exterior paint with the roof In contrast in black, there are numerous accents and interior details in yellow. In the Juke’s color offering, made up of 27 shades, white and black are also renewed, which are now more intense. As two-tone roof options there are black, gray and red.

Beyond the wheel designs, 17 and 19 inches, and the new colors, the Juke 2024 does not change on the outside, but it does change on the inside. It is worth mentioning the specific seats that each finish has, and that in the IKON they have yellow inserts made of a new suede-type material similar to Alcantara but with a high presence of recycled content, as well as the PVC upholstery instead of the natural leather, both on seats and on door panels, which also feature yellow accents and contrast stitching in this same tone.

However, the highlight is a new information screen located at the top of the 12.3” dashboard (previously 8). It is oriented 8º towards the driver to place the touch controls on the far edge of the screen within easy reach.

Another novelty is a digital instrument panel also measuring 12.3” with different configurable views and styles, or 7” in the access versions. These high-definition screens feature more fluid graphics and layouts thanks to an improved information and entertainment system that is more intuitive and allows the user to adapt the home screen to include widgets for the functions they use most frequently.

Additionally, this system now has improved voice recognition and “natural language understanding” capabilities. There is also a new smartphone charger and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity is available on all versions. In addition, when the car is stationary, video content from USB-connected devices can be played using the two available sockets A and C.

The mechanical range remains unchanged in the 2024 Juke, which will continue to offer two engines. On the one hand, the electrified option, with a 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder block that offers 143 HP of power and 148 Nm of torque with average consumption of between 4.7 and 4.9 l/100 km. On the other hand, the variant without electrical assistance that equips a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged DIG-T gasoline engine that generates 117 HP and a torque of up to 200 Nm. It is associated with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel.
