Mercadona plans to hire more than 800 people for the 2023 summer campaign during the month of May and until the end of September in the province of Valencia.
The objective is, as the company explains, “to strengthen its staff during this period to guarantee excellence” of the service in the more than 140 stores in the area and in the logistics blocks of Riba-roja de Túria and Parc Sagunt, a time that coincides with the arrival of tourists and with the vacations of the rest of the staff.
Job offers are available on their job portal, where the conditions of the position are described, such as the initial salary of 1,507 euros per month gross, or that no previous experience is required, since everyone receives specific training adapted to their needs. each position.
For his part, the general director of Consum assured this morning at the results press conference that the cooperative will incorporate some 3,500 people for the summer campaign in the modality of discontinuous fixed. The company will thus strengthen the workforce due to the strong increase in activity in a specific period, as was the case last Easter and Easter. Durich explained that the employees are intermittent because “every year they are the same.”
Regarding the workforce, Durich has estimated the new jobs created in 2022 at 1,125. Currently the workforce is made up of a total of 19,337 workers, 6.9% more than the previous year and of these, 96% are partners, permanent or partner on trial. The working members are owners of the cooperative, so they are involved in the management and share the benefits that, in 2022, were 72.9 million euros, of which 46.3 million euros correspond to the distribution of cooperative results among worker members and 26.6 million, to bonuses for objectives.
