A man shared an amazing experience where his Tesla Model Y turned out to be his salvation in a time of dire need. Via Twitter, he titled his story “My Crazy True Story,” highlighting the crucial role his vehicle played in his critical moment of emergency.
Interestingly, the incident occurred shortly after Tesla enabled full self-driving functionality for all of its vehicles in the United States. At 2:00 in the morning, Max Paul Franklin, the owner of the car, found himself in a critical situation due to severe dehydration and an alarmingly high blood glucose level, caused by a malfunction of his insulin pump.
With no time to waste, the man turned to his Tesla Model Y for help. Using the new full self-driving feature with a simple double-click on the steering column, he was amazed by the results. Without the need for intervention, the vehicle deftly navigated the 13 kilometers from his home to the nearest hospital emergency room, offering to self-park upon arrival and allowing him to seek immediate medical attention.
Despite having suffered a mild heart attack, the man left the hospital without major problems, thanks in part to the quick and efficient response provided by the vehicle and the excellent medical service of the Veterans Hospital, listed as one of the best in America.
The man, who owns several luxury vehicles from brands such as Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Acura and Cadillac, praised Tesla as the champion of automotive innovation today. He highlighted the vehicle’s lifesaving capabilities at critical moments, comparing the transition from traditional vehicles to Tesla’s full self-driving functionality to the jump from a basic phone to a smartphone.
Finally, he expressed his gratitude to Elon Musk for his leadership in technological innovation and the positive impact Tesla has had on his life and the world at large.
