21% of Spaniards plan to spend more this Easter than in the previous one in 2022. In addition, the average budget will amount to 429 euros, which is 8% higher than last year, when it was 399 euros.

This is reflected in the Cetelem Observatory’s ‘Zoom of Intention to spend on Easter’, whose results are based on the analysis of 6,000 online surveys.

The survey diagnoses that the percentage of consumers who will spend the same money as in the same period of the previous year is growing “slightly”, with 48% compared to 47%, and that of those who will consume less, with 31% compared to 30% from last year.

Among the Spaniards who stated that they had a lower spending intention for this Holy Week, nine out of ten attributed it to inflation.

By items, 36% will allocate more than 300 euros to their vacations, with an average expense of 950 euros. They are followed by those who will dedicate between 101 and 300 euros (31%), with an average expense of 222 euros; between 51 and 100 (14%), with an average cost of 95 and less than 50 euros (19%), with an average of 21.

Among the most widespread activities during these Easter holidays, those consulted cited resting and meeting friends (43%, compared to 42% in 2022) and traveling (42%, compared to 38% the previous year). Both chapters experience an increase of one and four points, respectively, and are the only ones that have grown compared to the other categories.

Next are leisure options such as eating out in restaurants (39%, seven points less than the previous year), watching processions (23%, two points less than then), shopping (21%, six points less) , cultural visits (19%, two points less), sports activities (18%, six points less), going to the movies, theater and concerts (17%, four points less), doing activities with children (12%, three points less) and going to spas (6%, one point less).
