On July 8, 2006, Carmen Cervera became the absolute protagonist of today, announcing the arrival into the world of her two daughters: María del Carmen and Guadalupe Sabina. Two girls who had been born thanks to the miracle of surrogacy and who had managed to make the Baroness’s dream of becoming a mother again come true through adoption.
Baron Thyssen’s widow faced this new adventure alone within the walls of her fortress in Sant Feliu de Guixols, in Girona, where one of the unresolved secrets of the gossip is also hidden: who is the real father of the Thyssen twins?
A question that flew over the presentation of the book The Baroness, by Nieves Herrero, and that has caused an earthquake in the Thyssen family. A book initially authorized by the protagonist of the story herself, having even participated in its preparation, but everything went wrong just a few months ago. The Baroness appeared in Traveling with Chester, and Risto Mejide threw the question at her, which ended up being censored.
A question that has ended with the baroness suing Nieves Herrero herself after the publication of the book. But what is the baroness hiding? Who is the real father of her twins?
A secret that the Baroness did not reveal in the official presentation of the little girls in the extensive report that in 2008 she offered to the magazine ¡Hola!, where irrefutable proof could be appreciated: how much the girls physically resembled Borja, the eldest son of the aristocrat, the result of his relationship with Manolo Segura and adopted when he was just a baby by Baron Hans Heinrich von Thyssen-Bornemisza when he married his mother.
An unusual fact, especially considering that none of them presumably share biological parents. A miracle of science that was soon filled with rumors, and which was not helped by the fact that the baroness made statements such as that “adopting my daughters was a decision I made with my son Borja” or that she wanted her daughters to look like her son elderly.
The resemblance of the girls to their brother, especially Sabina, is undeniable. So much so that from Viva la vida, on Telecinco, it was even stated that the sperm donor to father the Thyssen twins would have been Borja himself, in the style of Ana Obregón and her son, Aless. Something that Carmen Cervera herself flatly denied.
The reason, because the most likely donor would not be Borja, but his father, Manolo Segura. A fact that can never be confirmed, since the businessman died in 2020 at the age of 77, a victim of cancer. The Baroness will never speak of the subject either, at least for the moment.
Always in the background, Manolo and Carmen maintained a deep friendship over the years and throughout their lives.
“We talked about getting married. He was single, but I thought he was still married to Espartaco,” said the baroness, who, despite the fact that things did not end up settling with Segura, continued to be one of the people closest to him. It was very common to see Carmen accompanied by the businessman and sometimes also by his wife, Paz Pastor, whom the businessman married in 2004 and divorced in 2016.
It was not until after the bBaron’s death, in 2002, that Carmen Cervera finally made it known that the father of her child was Manolo Segura. After that confession, in which she also admitted that Borja and the businessman had known each other since the first was seven years old, it was very common to see the three of them spending time together.
Carmen was married three times, but never to the father of her child. Since then, in addition, another very significant detail also draws attention: the baroness has never done an exclusive with all of her children together in her top magazine. Although there are private images, the four have never been seen posed together.
