Vox has tried to mobilize its supporters this Sunday against the “destruction of institutions” that, in its opinion, the central government is carrying out. Hand in hand with the Solidarity union, the ultra-nationalist formation has called several rallies in front of the town halls of all the provincial capitals to demand, including a new barrage of insults in their fanfare, a “patriotic resurgence” that puts a stop, among other things, to the reform of the sedition law sponsored by the Executive.
For its main act held in Madrid, its leader, Santiago Abascal, has opted for the Plaza de Colón where a Christmas market has displaced the protesters to one of the lateral ends. The Basque leader has called for “social reaction” against the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, whom he has branded as an “unscrupulous politician” and a “demolition chief” at the head of a social-communist government of treason, insecurity and ruin.” .
With these concentrations, which according to the formation have mobilized a total of 100,000 people throughout the country, Vox has tried to capitalize on the notoriety garnered this week after its hyperbolic attacks on the Minister of Equality.
This has been underlined by Abascal himself. After ignoring, and therefore disabling, the apology intoned by his deputy Carla Toscano after the tension intentionally sought last Thursday -by assuring that the head of Equality has the sole merit of “having studied Pablo Iglesias in depth”-, the leader of Vox has charged the inks against Irene Montero accusing her of being a “crazed minister” with a tendency to “victimize herself”.
“They have very long tongues and very thin skin (…) They victimize themselves. What we have had to put up with this week… Telling the truth in Congress has no longer become daring. It is already the prelude to a crime It is violence, going against them is violence”, he has insisted as an unquestionable example of his strategy.
Abascal has affirmed in an extensive speech that the Executive has finished with the “essential pillars that a country needs to stay on its feet”, while, in his opinion, there is no longer “real democracy” or “sovereignty”, nor ” well-being”, “security” or “strong and independent institutions”.
The Vox leader has described Sánchez as an “unscrupulous politician” as well as “efficient when it comes to releasing criminals, seditious and embezzlers.”
That is why Spain needs, according to Abascal, what his party embodies: a “patriotic revival” and a “renewed national pride” in the face of “fed up with a complex about our homeland.”
Vox has personalized a good part of his speech about the Minister of Equality and has framed the execution of the law only if it is yes within a “criminal” political strategy that, in his opinion, generates “insecurity” in the streets by “opening the door to rapists and pedophiles”.
“We have a crazed minister who makes a law with the approval of the political and media left to get rapists out on the streets,” Abascal said of Montero before committing to “permanently” confront the government with “an amendment to the entire of its drift, madness and destruction of values ??and institutions”.
