Tibidabo has incorporated virtual reality into one of its best-known attractions, the roller coaster. For two minutes and at eighty kilometers per hour, passengers will be able to enjoy the dizzying experience in a very different way with virtual reality glasses.

With these glasses, passengers will view a fantasy clip starring the Tibidabo mascots, traveling through different spaces, from a space station to the seabed. The public will be able to enjoy this new experience starting next Sunday.

The general director of the park, Rosa Ortiz, has highlighted the importance of this new technological advance, “it is a unique roller coaster, it travels between the trees and has the first descent in the city of Barcelona”. The roller coaster is perfectly synchronized and adapted to the clip that the passengers will be able to view and, thanks to that, the experience is presented in a very similar way to reality.

The attraction will maintain the usual capacity and conditions of use, 16 people per car from 120 centimeters tall. People who prefer it will be able to continue enjoying the attraction without using this new function and without the virtual reality glasses.

The roller coaster is not the first attraction that incorporates this type of immersive technology to recreate a new experience in the Tibidabo amusement park, since another attraction, the Virtual Express, was inaugurated in 2017, which turned a classic fast train into the first attraction of virtual reality of Catalonia.
