The leader of the Esquerra Republicana Laura Vilagrà will repeat in the elections to the Parliament on May 12 as number two of Pere Aragonès.

In 2021, Vilagrà already occupied second place on the list of Republicans in Barcelona. The leader of Bages gained weight in the Catalan Executive following the departure of Junts per Catalunya in October 2022 from the Department of the Presidency.

In the last remodeling of his cabinet, the Catalan president promoted her to vice president of the Government of the Generalitat, further enhancing her political profile.

At the beginning of the Catalan legislature, which has lasted three years, it was entrusted with the Winter Games. Furthermore, he has been one of the people who has maintained dialogue with Madrid, with the Government of Pedro Sánchez, at all times.

After the spying with Pegasus on the independence leaders was revealed, the ice between both administrations was broken with a meeting between the current Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños, and Vilagrà herself. Bolaños is the strong man of Sánchez’s Executive.

ERC will go to the elections on 12-M with Aragonès as number one for Barcelona and candidate for re-election. In Lleida the head of the list will be Marta Vilalta, one of the visible faces of the formation. The spokeswoman, Raquel Sans, will lead the candidacy in Tarragona and in Girona it will be Laia Cañigueral, who is making her debut. Vilalta and Sans were already headliners.
