A total of 25 teams from all over the world take part in the 41st edition of the Mercat del Ram Balloon Contest, which has filled the sky of Vic, the capital of Osona, with aerostatic devices.
As seen in these images in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos, the balloons seem to want to compete with the birds in the sky as they fly over the city.
The Plaza Major has been the place to spread the balloon fabrics and begin to inflate these devices with air before they take to the skies.
The views of Vic from above offer a wide panoramic view of the town and, especially, of its most emblematic corners and monuments.
The photographs have been taken from inside one of the balloons that take part in this test that has already become a classic on the international calendar.
The most emblematic test of this popular contest will arrive tomorrow, Saturday, and the team that flies closest to the bell tower of Vic City Hall will win.
