The youth national team of Ukraine, consisting of players born after 2008, recently began competing in the Dream Cup 2024 tournament held in Japan. Unfortunately, the team faced a tough match against the hosts and suffered a 0-6 defeat.

The game saw Japan’s U-16 team dominating the field, scoring goals by Kasai, Kanda, Yoshida, Okuda, Fujii, and Asada. The Ukrainian team, led by coach Yuriy Moroz, struggled to keep up with the strong performance of their opponents.

Despite the challenging start, the Ukrainian team remains focused on the upcoming matches in the tournament. The competition will continue until June 23 at the J-Village Stadium in Fukuoka, where the team will face off against peers from Senegal and Venezuela.

The players representing Ukraine in the tournament include Khadasevych, Zalipka, Khlivnyuk, Mylokost, Solomon, Andriyko, Romaniuk, Ivaskiv, Slyva, Kroitar, and Kucheryavyi. Despite the defeat in the opening match, the team is determined to learn from the experience and improve their performance in the upcoming games.

Looking ahead, the Ukrainian team is set to play against Senegal on June 21 in their quest to bounce back from the initial loss and showcase their skills on the field. The tournament serves as a valuable opportunity for the young players to gain experience and prepare for future competitions, including the Euro 2025 (U-17) qualifiers.

As the team continues to compete in the Dream Cup 2024 tournament, fans and supporters eagerly await their upcoming matches and hope to see a stronger performance from the Ukrainian youth national team. Despite the initial setback, the players remain motivated and determined to make their mark in the remaining games of the tournament.
