Passersby walking along the River Thames must have been surprised by the feat of two parachutists dressed in wingsuits. Two Austrians, Marco Furst and Marco Waltenspiel, jumped from a helicopter at a height of three thousand feet to fly over the course of the river and cross London’s Tower Bridge at several hundred kilometers per hour.
A wingsuit or wingsuit is a winged suit used for gliding, as a form of skydiving. The horizontal displacement in this modality increases while the vertical descent decreases, compared to traditional free fall skydiving.
In the case in question, they completed a maneuver called “flare”, which consists of descending to a height of 35 meters to rise again to 80 meters, at which time it was decided to open the parachute and land properly on the ground.
