They set fire to a car and a motorcycle that were parked in a garage of a home in Pilas, in Seville, and the flames devoured a total of 19 vehicles on August 27 and caused the preventive eviction of 60 people from the building. Now, the two perpetrators of the events, aged 40 and 31 and residents of the town, have been imprisoned by order of court number 4 of Sanlúcar la Mayor.

According to the Civil Guard, responsible for the investigation and the ‘Infa’ operation, the damage caused amounts, in a first assessment, to one and a half million euros and the fire put the inhabitants of the building in serious “danger” due to the “amount of smoke” it caused. On the other hand, the residential facilities were also seriously damaged.

It was within the framework of this operation that the two arrests occurred, once the perpetrators of the fire were identified thanks to the recordings from different cameras located in the building.

These individuals entered the garage hiding their faces with hoods, sweatshirts, and scarves and were going to a car and a motorcycle parked there. They spilled flammable liquid that they were carrying in a bottle, causing both vehicles to burn.

Subsequently, the fire spread to several nearby vehicles, spreading to the rest of the affected places.
