Two individuals were injured following a four-car crash on a country road in northern Georgia Sunday day, which might be linked to an earlier episode involving a speeding automobile that eluded authorities, Georgia State Police reported.
The trooper tried to block the sedan, authorities said, but the defendant fled from Stephens County to Habersham County on street 365 southwest, in which the trooper lost sight of the motor vehicle.
At approximately 2:40 pm, authorities reported that a Honda Accord was traveling southbound on this roadway as it struck the back of a Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma, say authorities reported, subsequently spun out and struck the median prior to overturning numerous occasions.
The driver of this Tacoma, who wasn’t identified pending notification of next of kin, was wearing his seatbelt but didn’t survive the impact. An unidentified passenger at the Tacoma, who allegedly wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and was also fatally injured, authorities said.
Additionally, a fourth vehicle, a Honda CRV, was traveling northbound on SR 365 at the left lane and was hit by a wheel and tire which was thrown out of the Toyota Tacoma while it had been overturning.
No extra injuries were reported.
