The National Police have arrested two men, aged 31 and 42, for growing and selling marijuana through postal shipments. The agents have dismantled a plantation in Igualada located inside a house. The detainees, of Italian origin, vacuum packed the drug and sent it to different parts of Italy.
The investigation began in Sagunto last March 2023, when a courier company alerted the agents of the shipment of a package containing three bags of a green vegetable substance. The agents located the people who had made the shipment from Igualada, the detainees.
Local Police officers searched the home of the detainees, which is located in Igualada. There, 273 marijuana plants were involved, bags of dry substance with a total weight of 20 kilos, 800 grams of hashish pollen and 23 opium. In addition to opium, MDMA pills, 6,750 euros in cash and precision scales.
For all of the above, the detainees are accused of a crime against public health. Both without prior records, have entered provisional prison after going to court.
