Two people have died this Sunday morning in a head-on collision caused by a car traveling in the opposite direction on the A-2 in Granyanella (Segarra). The notice of the accident was received at 03:27 at kilometer 516 of the A-2, between Cervera and Tàrrega.

For unknown reasons, there was a frontal collision on the motorway by a driver who was mistakenly traveling in the direction of Barcelona on the lanes in the direction of Lleida.

According to the first information, the victims are a 50-year-old man – who would be the driver of the offending vehicle – and a 19-year-old young man, a companion of the other tourism. The 28-year-old driver was seriously injured and was transferred by the SEM to the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida.

The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating the causes of the accident and with these two deaths there are already 51 fatalities in traffic accidents on the roads and highways of Catalonia this 2023.
