The Civil Guard, within the framework of the Farmatrac operation, has managed to identify, locate and arrest the two perpetrators of several robberies with violence and intimidation in pharmacies located in Valdemoro and Ciempozuelos (Madrid).
Those arrested used to repeat their modus operandi. While one of them remained in the vehicle to provide cover for the escape, the other entered the establishments and, armed with some blunt object, threatened the employees so that they would open the box for him.
The investigation began last April when a middle-aged man entered a pharmacy located in the Madrid municipality of Valdemoro where, after intimidating and threatening the establishment worker with a baseball bat, he managed to get hold of more than 700 euro.
The progress of the investigation made it possible to relate this incident to two others of similar characteristics that occurred in pharmacies located in the nearby town of Ciempozuelos, also south of Madrid, where they used a hammer and a metal bar to threaten the workers.
Immediately afterwards, he fled aboard a car in which his buddy was waiting.
After identifying and locating the perpetrators, both were arrested in Valdemoro and Aranjuez after verifying that they were still in possession of the objects with which they committed the robberies, as well as the vehicle from which they were traveling.
The two 32 and 35-year-old detainees have numerous records for crimes related to property. They are charged with three crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation. The operation has been carried out by agents of the Civil Guard of the Pinto Investigation Area.
Both detainees were brought before the courts, who ordered the admission of one of them to prison.
