Trump equates his accusation with "Stalin's Russia or communist China"

The indictment against Donald Trump for taking secret documents from the White House, and refusing to deliver them, consists of numerous more than evident evidence, such as statements from his most trusted collaborators, his lawyers, electronic correspondence, video recordings or photographs .

According to the former president, however, “the baseless and ridiculous accusation made by the Department of Injustice will go down in history as one of the most horrible abuses of power.”

This was said this Saturday in Columbus (Georgia) at a rally, his first act after special prosecutor Jack Smith revealed the content of the indictment and the 37 charges against Trump and for which he must appear in court on Tuesday of Miami.

Only one of the most serious charges, those linked to the violation of the espionage law, could mean up to 20 years in prison, and there are several of these, you go to trial and you are convicted. Trump turns 77 next Wednesday.

Given the fervor of the audience, some 2,000 people devoted body and soul to their leader, insulting and apocalyptic as usual, the former president assured that everything is about “a farce of justice.” In his vision, “Biden is trying to put his political rival in jail.” In his argument, he qualified that “it is what they did in Stalinist Russia or in communist China, there is no difference.”

He proclaimed his innocence and that all this was a false accusation by a prosecutor who hates him, a “cowardly” prosecutor, “a deranged madman”, always starting from his words. “Nobody can believe this is happening in America.” Not satisfied with this, he stressed that “the most protected criminal is the dishonest Joe Biden.”

The nickname “dishonest” was the one he used with Hillary Clinton, but he justified the change in character because “who cares about Hillary Clinton.” Well, to him, since she cited on more than one occasion that she deleted her emails when she was Secretary of State, for which she used a private server, “and no one has accused him.” She declined to say that they investigated her but did not find that she systematically or deliberately misused secrets. Trump was found stacked boxes with classified ‘Top Secret’ papers in the ballroom of the club of his Mar-a-Lago (Florida) mansion, in his bedroom, in a shower or sink, that is, a toilet.

Trump stressed that accusing him was no longer a smokescreen to cover up the alleged corruption of Biden and his son Hunter, and stressed that “they are not going against me, they are going against you”, to the ecstasy” of that devoted public.

“They took one charge and they’ve done 37,” the prosecution scoffed. He proclaimed that the Department of Justice is “a nest of sick people who must be thrown out” and insisted that the indictment “is a political coup.” The same prosecutor Smith is investigating Trump as the alleged instigator of the coup on January 6, 2021, when he tried to perpetuate himself in power.

In one of his irresolvable contractions, he guaranteed that if he returns to the White House he will restore respect for the police, although at the same time he alluded to the FBI as part of the state sewers, a conglomerate of communists, Marxists and fascists.

Trump, who appears as the best placed at the moment to be the Democratic candidate, saw the positive side in this accusation. “The only good thing about this is that they have shot up my chances in the polls, can you believe that,” he trumpeted.
