Torrevieja, the fifth most populated city in the Valencian Community after València, Alicante, Elx and Castellón, has exceeded the significant figure of 100,000 residents, according to the latest official data from the registry. And half of them (49.74% exactly) are foreigners from 122 countries on five continents.

The registered residents of Torrevieja are 49,944 foreigners and 50,477 Spaniards, for a total of 100,421. The data provided by the city council indicates that Ukraine is the most represented foreign country, with 7,650 residents, followed by Russia (5,837) and the United Kingdom (4,912). Since January 2023, 1,879 new Ukrainians and 905 Russians have been registered in the city.

The fourth country that contributes the most population to the Alicante town is Colombia, with 4,360 registered, ahead of Morocco (2,473), Sweden (1,677), Romania (1,604), Bulgaria (1,524), Belgium (1,474), Italy (1,246) , Germany (1,159). Other representative groups, between the 500 and 1,000 registered, are Algerians, Poles, Chinese, Brazilians, Argentines, Norwegians, Venezuelans, Finns, French, Belarusians, Lithuanians, Indians and Dutch.

Regarding the distribution of the population registered in Torrevieja according to age, the number of children and young people under 20 years of age amounts to 18,536, between 20 and 40 years of age there are 22,435; from 40 to 60 there are 30,513 registered; from 60 to 80 a total of 23,485; and from 80 to 100 of 5,431; while residents with 100 or more are 21, of which six are men and 15 women.
