The Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating a fight that occurred last Wednesday night in the entrance hall of the Sants stop of the Barcelona Metro, which ended with three security guards slightly injured due to bruises, although one of them suffered a breach. on the head that required several stitches.
The events occurred around 10 p.m., between the corridors and the platform of line 5 of the Sants station, where the workers were attacked with fists when trying to recriminate a group of boys who had sneaked in without paying the corresponding ticket, according to The Case advanced.
One of the passengers who was passing by recorded the sequence that Adn Sindical Seguridad y Servicios de Catalunya has shared on social networks as a complaint.
The emergency services and the Mossos d’Esquadra moved to the scene, although the alleged attackers had already fled. The investigation and search for the perpetrators of the attack remains open.
As explained by Sergio Sánchez, from ADN Sindical, the majority professional private security union in Catalonia on Antena 3, “the boys jumped over the turnstiles, a guard caught their attention, went down to the platforms with another colleague and asked them to leave the season”. At that moment was when they attacked the two guards “they became violent and began to hit them.”
Sánchez explains on said platform that two other Renfe canine guides who were traveling on the train, upon seeing what was happening, got off the convoy to try to help “at that moment one of the aggressors took the defense off one of the guards and used it to hitting him on the head, causing a gap that required two stitches.
ADN Sindical denounces the lack of personnel in train stations and insecurity in the Barcelona metro: “It is daily bread, there are no police actions, we need police operations in the metro, the public administration forgets to solve this problem in the Barcelona transport network”.
They claim that they feel legally unprotected because they are not considered an authority.
