The next Miss World pageant is about to take place. The 71st edition of this beauty contest will take place on March 9 at the Jio World Convention Center in Bombay (India). And if one thing is certain, it is that Spain is willing to win for the second time in its history. And for this, everything falls on Paula Pérez, who will be in charge of fighting for this title.
It was two years ago when she was crowned Miss World Spain and now she is willing to carry a message of social awareness around the planet, as she revealed in an interview for Diez Minutos magazine. And although she is now very focused on this facet, her professional career has a totally different direction: medicine.
Originally from Castellón, the Valencian is clear that she wants to fulfill this dream at 27 years old. Therefore, she has prepared herself physically, but also mentally. “I think the most important thing is the intellectual part,” she said. And the side that has been most prepared is the “human purpose.”
This vindictive aspect may come from his profession. Aside from beauty pageants, Paula Pérez is proud to have a degree in Medicine and Surgery, something that allows her to enjoy the more humanitarian side of her. “At the age of 16, I already knew that I wanted to be a doctor, because I was very curious about medical knowledge and helping others,” she said in 2022 for the aforementioned medium.
However, now she has had to put everything aside to be able to fight for the long-awaited Miss World crown. And she is clear that she has left her fears at home to be able to enjoy the experience and “meet people from other cultures.” Even so, she has assured in the interview that although she wants to win, she does not believe “that it is a disappointment” not to do so.
But if there is something that is going to really hurt her, it is leaving her mother in Spain, since her illness makes it impossible for her to move with her daughter. “I have the responsibility of leaving her here, but I am leaving with all the hope in the world that she is proud of me,” she expressed. Although she will keep it very present. And for the talent test she has composed a song dedicated to her mother and her late grandmother.
Although no member of his family will accompany him on March 9, “someone very special” will. Although she still doesn’t want to classify him as a boyfriend, everything indicates that she will be one soon. And this new man in his life is a different one from the one he was at her side when she won her Miss World Spain crown in Pineda de Mar: “It’s over.”
And whether he wins or not, he is clear that this will again mean a change in his life, like the one he experienced in 2022. “When I was doing my medical residency I was not happy and I needed to make changes,” he assured the magazine. Something that has been achieved over time. Now, she is clear that she is “aware of childhood mental illnesses” and she wants to give them a voice.
